Aug 27, 2023

MADISON, Wis. -- With temperatures expected to reach the low-90s on Saturday, Wisconsin Athletics will hand out a limited supply of free bucket hats and encourage spectators to take precautions in order to remain cool.

The first 7,500 students to enter through the student gate at Camp Randall for the Badgers' first home game of the season will receive a free bucket hat.

Spectators are encouraged to stay hydrated in the extreme heat. Fans will be permitted to carry in two sealed, unopened bottles of water per person. Additionally, Wisconsin Athletics plans to have 125,000 bottles of water on hand.

Water fountains are located throughout the stadium on the first, third and fifth level concourses and the upper deck concourse. In addition, four multi-person water stations will be available for fans, located on the east side of the stadium in the fire lane between Gates 2 and 4.

UW will be setting up fans in several locations including the north end of the stadium near the student entrance, the east side fire lane and the third level concourse on the west side of the stadium.

Fans are encouraged to wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and breathable fabrics.
